Hand Sanitizer: Function of each Ingredients


We have observed lots of local entity are trying to manufacture the hand sanitizer either to self sustain the health institution or to get short term benefits. Even after the WHO recommended formula used,here are few things to be considered for sanitizer:
1. Alcohol concentration: 70%. Why not 90 or 100%. Its all due to high volatility of alcohol, this concentration, penetrated the cells and able to denature the protein.
2. H202: Due to its oxidizing property
3. Glycerin: Humectant and reduce the volatility
4. Essential oil: Just makes us feel good
5. Packaging container: Narrow opening (To ensure the reduced evaporation)
6. 72 Hours of holding time: To ensure the spores germinates and killed.
