The Nepal Pharmaceutical Association (NPA) is an organization that aims to unite pharmacists in Nepal and provide a platform for collaboration, advocacy, and professional development. Recently, the association went through a leadership change and initiated a process to select new leaders for key positions. Pharmashastra led this process, and candidates were individually called for their interest in various positions. Despite the positive response, some candidates did not respond.
In terms of policy priorities, Prajapati listed the
upliftment of pharmacists, policy making, and collaboration with diploma
pharmacists and pharmacists as his top three. He also expressed the need for
all pharmacists to be united and for each and every pharmacist to be equal
globally. When asked about his thoughts on different areas of the
pharmaceutical sector, Prajapati emphasized the need for better sales and
marketing practices, including better allowances and working hours for
pharmacists.
While Prajapati's responses give us insight into the
leadership and priorities of one member interested in a position in the NPA, it
is clear that the association has a wide range of goals and priorities. Professional
development and training, advocacy, member engagement, and collaboration and
partnerships are all areas that the association is focused on.
Moving forward, the NPA has a crucial role to play in
advocating for the interests of the pharmaceutical industry and its members at
the local, national, and international levels. By working together and
prioritizing the needs of pharmacists and the industry, the association can
help to improve policies and regulations, enhance professional development opportunities,
and create a more unified and supportive community of pharmacists in Nepal.
