About medication for Nepal

The  medical service sector is in dire need of help. There is a huge shortage from patient’s perspective,who are not able to find essential life-saving medication. Medication for Nepal is a citizen movement to increase and improve access to medicines and   medical supplies. It does this by connecting people across the country via online Facebook group Medication for Nepal to assess availability of medication. Secondly, it connects people who are willing to help with people who need help.

As a part to achieve its mission, Medication for Nepal will be gathering availability of drugs and    medical supplies data from Government Hospitals in Nepal and will strive update it on a weekly basis. This should provide prescriptive direction to the helping hands and charities around the world to identify the exact needs. Government hospitals in Nepal mostly cater to the economically deprived segment of the country.

On the   supply side, it will also   try to crowd source   the suppliers’   information to enable market making activity to take place. However, dear donors please remember procuring from local suppliers   is like taking money from your left   pocket and putting it in your right pocket, i.e., it does   not solve   the scarcity problem.   The list of suppliers is meant to help volunteers who are searching for medications.

Finally, every this movement’s goal is to promote transparency   and accountability. As such, we will    strive our best to collect     donation information in     the detail. Furthermore, we ask    for documentation from donors. We would also request you to collect the documentation from the executing person /entity on your behalf to keep good documentation.
