Dr Robhash Kusam Subedi : NPA candidate for President

The Nepal Pharmaceutical Association (NPA) is an organization that represents the interests of pharmacists in Nepal. Recently, the organization conducted a process to find candidates for key positions, led by Pharmashastra. Despite receiving positive responses from many candidates, some did not respond to the request. One of the candidates who did respond is Robhash Kusam Subedi, who expressed interest in the position of President. Subedi has a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree and over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. He has worked in leadership roles in various organizations, such as Vega Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd., Nepal Ausadhi Limited, and Meera Biotech Pvt. Ltd.

During his career, Subedi has accomplished notable achievements such as restarting Nepal Ausadhi Limited from a closed state and bringing new technologies from developed countries to Nepal. He also played a key role in establishing the first north-south collaboration in the pharmaceutical industry in Meera Biotech. Subedi's vision for the NPA is to establish it as the sole representative of pharmacists in Nepal and to make it more active in policy-making roles. He wants the NPA to advocate for the improvement of working environments for pharmacists, increase their job opportunities, and safeguard their rights.

If elected, Subedi's top three policy priorities would be health policy, the implementation of the Drug Act 2035, and the implementation of the Hospital Pharmacy Directive. He aims to support and encourage professional development opportunities for members of the NPA by organizing regular training programs in all fields related to pharmacy. He would also establish collaborations with international trainers to provide opportunities for continuous improvement for pharmacists. To advocate for the interests of the pharmaceutical industry and the NPA at local, national, and international levels, Subedi plans to establish close ties with government bodies at all levels.

Subedi believes in engaging with members of the NPA and ensuring their voices are heard in decision-making processes. He would conduct regular meetings and provide updates from state bodies and other working groups to hear about any problems faced by pharmacists. Additionally, Subedi believes in playing a role to improve various sectors of the pharmaceutical industry, such as research and development, manufacturing and quality control, sales and marketing, regulatory affairs, intellectual property rights, ethics and compliance, professional development and training, public health healthcare policies and legislation, and collaboration and partnerships.

In conclusion, Robhash Kusam Subedi is an experienced and accomplished candidate who has a clear vision for the Nepal Pharmaceutical Association. If elected as the President, he plans to work towards improving the working environments and job opportunities for pharmacists in Nepal, advocating for their interests, and establishing collaborations with international trainers for professional development opportunities. His experience and achievements in the pharmaceutical industry make him a strong candidate for the position.
